If I was a university what would be on my Christmas list?

If I were a university, my letter to Santa would focus on three gifts: funding, autonomy, and better data. These whilst not all three may be immediately forthcoming, combined they are the essential tools for navigating the current higher education landscape. While this article will look specifically at Australia and the UK, there are themes for international education worldwide.
